Bayanihan’s 28th annual Pilipino Cultural Celebration (PCC), Malakas at Maganda, will portray the institutional, interpersonal, and internalized oppression of the LGBTQ+ community while calling in our Filipino community to define and practice what it means to be an ally. We are utilizing PCC as a platform to strengthen ties and empower not only our community, but also our allied communities at UCSC through collaboration and creating an open dialogue.

What is PCC?
PCC is an annual production that Bayanihan puts together to showcase out Filipino culture as well as address pertinent issues in society. This year, we are tackling the issues of colonial mentality and colorism. Our production features all of Bayanihans's performing arts troupes interwoven together to tell an original story surrounding Pilipino history and culture. Our annual production provides an open space and dialogue for our cast, faculty, and the rest of the community to come together and learn about another aspect of the Pilipinx/Pilipino history and culture.
